Welcome to our family!
When we say our clients are family, we mean it! We treat everyone like they are a member of our family and individualize each estate plan to your individual needs. We promise to give you the attention to detail just like we would if you were any one of our own family members!
Meet the family:
If you are a client, you become part of our extended family! Let us introduce ourselves:
Terry “TJ” Cochran, Esquire.
Founding attorney of TJ Cochran Law, P.L.L.C.
TJ is a native Floridian. An Eagle Scout, TJ loves the outdoors, hiking, fishing, and playing on the water and at the beach with his family. After the Air Force, TJ attended the University of South Florida (go Bulls!) where he was a founding member of the Leadership House. His introduction to servant leadership started there, and continues to be a guiding path. TJ met his beautiful wife, Taylor, at a USF football game, and they have been together ever since! After USF, TJ started his law enforcement career at the Bennington County Sheriff’s Department in Bennington, Vermont. After realizing the water in that part of the country was frozen for most of the year, he moved back to Florida and started with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. Throughout his 21-year career in law enforcement, he has held supervisory positions in investigations, court services, and internal affairs. TJ is currently one of the in-house counsels for the Sheriff’s Office and is the Director of Professional Compliance and Training for the agency.
TJ earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies from Hodges University in Fort Myers, Florida. TJ earned his Juris Doctor Degree from Thomas Cooley Law School in Tampa, Florida, where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society and the Moot Court Board. In law school, TJ earned certificates of merit in Corporate Compliance and Florida Estate Planning. He is a current member of The Florida Bar.
TJ’s passion is helping people plan for the future. He has seen families devastated throughout his law enforcement career when someone dies and does not have an estate plan. So, as TJ approaches his retirement from CCSO, he wants to help everyone he can prepare an estate plan for their individual needs.
Taylor Cochran
Notary Public
If you need a notary for any of your documents, Taylor is at your service!
Taylor holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of South Florida (go Bulls!), holds a Notary Public from the State of Florida, and is an avid reader and gardener.
Taylor is the notary for our firm, and you will get to meet her either before or (definitely) on “signing day,” which is the long-awaited joyous occasion where your estate plan is done, signed, and completed!
Kylo
Head of security and chief bunny chaser
Like most of you, we have pets. Kylo is what we would like to call a “true rescue,” meaning he had a really (really) rough life prior to coming to the shelter. Our family adopted him at the age of 2(ish) from the Suncoast Humane Society in Englewood, Florida. He has been with our family since 2021 and is now enjoying his best puppy-dog life!
Kylo, like a true shepherd, does not care for any humans besides his family, BUT he loves to take car rides, bark at anything that moves, and keeps all rabbits, birds, and any other animal out of our property!
